Build a 400$ Gaming PC 1080p

Building a pc is never been a easy thing. You need to know how to balance your budget and the performance. When it comes to very low budget build. the performance you will get is pretty low too. but at least it will do some job for you. Might will work on some high end games on mid settings.

A console cost your around this price too. And you have very limited activities on it. Why not build a pc instead when you can do anything such as office works watch TV, Movies, and Game on it. Cool huh?

First off you will need to choose a CPU. CPU is pretty important, but those Core i series is too high for a low budget pc. I will choose one for you and that one is pretty good price with better performance.

CPU: Pentium Anniversary G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor [69$]

The Pentium Anniversary G3258 is very compatible CPU for a soft gaming 1080p. Some game will run smoothly on it such as GTA 5, Far Cry 4, BF 4, Fall Out 4 around mid settings 1080p. You will get some better performance on this Pentium CPU.
This CPU is unlocked. Which means you can overclock this bad boy. Some decent Air cooling will do the job. Boosting up some numbers on frequency will also improve your gaming experience but it will decrease your CPU life span too. Or getting a water cooling instead?
I do not recommend to use a warter cooling on this build because the water cooling is cost more then the CPU. Why use Water cooling on this CPU for overclocking? it might not worth it thought.

Motherboard: MSI H81m Mini ITX 1150 [40$]

This is a very common mainboard for budget build. I will recommend this to any one of you who want to build a budget gaming pc. It has a PCIe x16 slot for your GPU. 2 Ram slots which you can boost up to 16GB. Some SATA slots for your storage.
The MSI H81m offer you very great deal with the price. You can get this around 40$ near by your house or get it from Amazon or any Computer shop out there. The price never go over 60$. If you find it over 60$ then do not attempt to buy it. The shop must have sell it higher then others. Take some times to go around.

RAM : ADATA 8GB XPG [40$]

You can get any 8GB ram for around this price. It doesn't depend on any brand. For Ram is not important the cheaper you get the more budget you save. But i always recommend to choose a better ram like Kingston or ADATA which their price are pretty low and it never have any problem with it.
You can get a 16GB instead if you want to do more stuff but adding 8GB more on this build won't help you much. Unless you want to open Fall out 4 and watching Youtube and open several browser tab at the same time. Don't overdo on a 400$ pc, deal with it.

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB [104$]

This card is decent for your 1080p gaming. You can run Fall out 4 mid settings for 40 - 50fps with no hiccup or any spikes. The Card is very good when it comes to budget gaming. Comparing to GTX 750Ti its performance is a little bit lower so if you have more i suggest you get the GTX 750Ti instead. but R7 260X is never a bad idea.
Some benchmarks of the card:
  • Alien: Isolation | High Overall Detail, Anisotropic Texture Filtering 8x = 61fps
  • Tomb Raider | High Quality = 61fps
  • Battlefield 4 | Medium Quality = 54fps
  • BioShock Infinite | Very High Quality = 58fps
  • Metro Last Light Redux | Medium Quality, AF 4x, Tessellation Normal = 44fps
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor | Medium Quality = 51fps
  • Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition | Medium Quality = 53fps
As you can see you can RUN most of the game ~55fps average. Why not choose this one?

Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified [40$]

Don't waste your budget on a power supply. If you don't know how much power you need for your build just go to a site called power calculate. It will tell you how much power you need for your build.
This 430W is decent for your build. Unless you don't use more power to overclock the CPU. Don't Overclock your CPU with lower output power supply. It won't do much.
